Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp, twice a Bundesliga champion in charge of former club Borussia Dortmund, has admitted that the Premier League is a much tougher and more competitive environment than what he used to know in Germany, describing England as a higher level.
“The Premier League is really intense, it requires you to be a step above the Bundesliga. [It is] because there are more teams, two cup competitions – with replays, or two-legged semi finals in the League Cup,” Klopp explained to German outlet Sport1.
“The teams that you’re competing with for top positions don’t just fight with cotton wool balls. They are well organised, financially, and have great levels of quality in their squads,” he added, emphasising just how hard it to be successful in the Premier League.
