Santi Cazorla played his last match for Arsenal at the beginning of last season due to a dreadfull achilles heel injury, but is set to return on the pitch after Christmas. The Spanish playmaker admitted he even almost had his foot amputated.
Cazorla told his story in Marca, in which he has spoken about the horrific extent of the achilles tendon injury that has kept him sidelined for over a year, admitting that he almost lost his foot after contracting a life-threatening infection. The Spaniard lost eight centimeters of his tendon.
Doctors have told the 32-year-old Arsenal ace would be lucky if he would be able to walk in the garden with his son, but surprisingly, Cazorla is on his way back to play professional football again. Wenger even said, he could be back playing professional football with the Gunners as early as January. The manager said that he thinks that ‘if all goes well, his return will be after Christmas’.
